Uber Community Impact Initiative Partner

Angel Harvey Family Health Center has been selected as an Uber Community Impact Initiative partner

The program will support increasing access to medical services by ensuring transportation is not a barrier

We are proud to announce that the Angel Harvey Family Health Center of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago has been selected to participate in the Uber Community Impact Initiative (CII). Support from Uber through CII will help ensure transportation is no longer a barrier to people who lack access or resources to adequate transportation and who need access to our medical services.

“This partnership is a wonderful opportunity for us to improve upon social determinants of health by removing one simple barrier: the ability of patients in need to get to us.” -Jerry Isikoff, CEO

Uber has partnered with us by providing ride credits. We will use these credits to assist patients who need emergency transportation to our office or to the hospital, or for patients who are chronically missing appointments due to inadequate transportation. Need will be largely determined on a case-by-case basis by the patient’s provider or Care Coordinator. Patients will also be trained on how to get rides to their medical appointments through their managed care organization (MCO).

“Here in Chicago, we use our technology and resources to support organizations that are delivering meaningful, positive change,” said Sarah Freed, Uber Representative. “the Angel Harvey Family Health Center is one of those organizations and we’re proud to support their great work because they understand that transportation has the power to transform everyday life for the people in Chicago.”

Each year, Uber teams up with nonprofits across the region to support the cities in which they operate and help create opportunities for all. This year’s class of Community Impact Initiative partners includes organizations in many fields including healthcare, that are working to positively impact Chicago through their work.

Our organization is one of more than 70+ local nonprofits receiving support through this program.  Organizations interested in participating in the Community Impact Initiative in the future can learn more at http://t.uber.com/CII.
